What was that thing about a man's reach exceeding his grasp?

  • I'd like to do something rather soon that capitalizes on the interest in the book (he said wistfully) by showing rather than telling the story. While an over-sized coffee table book may be too expensive (and too large a format for my earlier 2.1 Megapixel images), I think a full 11" x 8.5" landscape oriented book of color images enhanced by passages from the book as well as some new writing might find some interest among Parkway travelers and others.

  • I'd like to think about doing maybe an hour's worth of selected reading and turn it into a "book on tape."

  • It's time to get out of my essay straight-jacket, and even out of my non-fiction rut as well. Can I write fiction? Never even thought about it until recently. I'm thinking something related to Cold Mountain, only in the fact that that book was rich in natural history and dialect. I think I can work with those elements, and in the descriptions of landscapes, weather and human emotion. Something to think about.
