- Tentative: Earth Day, April 22 @ Unitarian Universalist Church Roanoke, Brandon and Grandin Avenue. I will be presenting my "personal ecology of place"--a photographic excursion with readings from Slow Road Home.

- Wythe County Rotary, lunch meeting, membership only, December 14
- Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library / Friends of the Library 5 October 2006 at 7 pm at Meadowbrook Library in Shawsville Route 460 between Christiansburg and Salem. Guests are welcomed, refreshments will be served and books signed after the program.
- Roanoke Sierra Club 13 October 2006 7 pm at the Unitarian Church, Corner of Brandon and Grandin. This will be a photographic excursion into some of the scenes and places that Slow Road Home readers will recognize. More details here. Guests are welcomed!

- "Appetizer" for Franklin County Bookfest Hungry Vibe, downtown Rocky Mount, 7-9 pm, August 18. Six Authors read from and discuss their books in a relaxed coffeehouse setting.
- Valley Bookfest, Roanoke Fred will be a panelist for the "Local Voices" discussion at the Roanoke Downtown Library. Schedule of events coming soon.
